Theme Song Whistling Contest — Trivia Contest — Prizes — Fun

The Andy Griffith Show is one of the most beloved television series ever, still being shown 47 years after it first appeared in prime time. But many of the myriads of fans may not know that the fictional town of Mayberry drew much of its inspiration from Andy Griffith's real hometown, Mount Airy, North Carolina.

Jewell M. Kutzer was born and raised in that same mountain town and during the same era as Andy Griffith, went to the same schools and had some of the same mentors. In fact, Jewell's grandfather was the real Justice of the Peace in the town and she played checkers with the policemen and hung around the jail, just like TV's Opie.

In 1940's housedress with apron and attitude, Jewell is transformed into the Mayberry Momma, an original character drawn from television's Aunt Bee and Jewell's real Aunt Bea. Saucy, funny, and lovingly in your face, Momma has audiences alternately spellbound and screaming with laughter. The session is highly interactive, so watch out, Momma just might pick on you!

Session Suggestions

Start your meeting off with the Mayberry Momma to get everyone in a good mood for the rest of the conference. Or have her send your attendees home laughing after the closing session. Momma's clean and clever program is also delightful as a Luncheon and Laughter session with themed food and decorations. Additional details on the Meeting Planners page.
